The Hyattstown Mill Arts Project is seeking artworks that celebrate
Montgomery County’s iconic landmark and much beloved symbol
of tranquility; the quiet sentinel that is Sugarloaf Mountain. In 1999,
the newly founded Hyattstown Mill Arts Project launched its inaugural
exhibition “Sugarloaf”. Now, in honor of our twentieth anniversary as
a contributing member of our cultural community, the Hyattstown Mill
Arts Project, once again, proudly returns to the mountain. Please
share with us your interpretation of Sugarloaf- the humble elevation
that continuously inspires us with its timeless and gracious beauty.

How to Apply

Email to bd@hyattstownmill.org one to five digital images of your
artwork. This is an non-juried show. At minimum, one artwork will
be selected for exhibition. There is 3ft. x 4ft. size restriction for
paintings. Artwork can be outdoor sculpture as well. Please keep
file image size under 2mb. There is a $10.00 fee for non-HMAP members.

Artist should include a cover sheet that provides the following information; Artist name , address,
e-mail address, & contact phone number, For each art image please provide : Title, medium,
special hanging or handling instructions if any, insurance value. Participating artists are encouraged,
although not required, to support the Hyattstown Mill Arts Project by providing two hours of Mill
Gallery supervision during the exhibition.

About HMAP



The Hyattstown Mill Arts Project is a 501 (3) c non-profit organization dedicated
to serving our regions diverse community through multidiscipline art activities and cultural events.
HMAP is in partnership with Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning (M-NCPPC ) and
provides cultural programming for the historic Hyattstown Mill. We a located in the 3,700 acre
Little Bennett Regional Park, Montgomery County’s’ largest Regional Park.< /b>

A ONE-OF-A-KIND CENTER FOR LITERATURE, FINE ART AND CULTURAL HERITAGE IN MONTGOMERY COUNTY

Known as HMAP, the Hyattstown Mill Arts Project operates out of historic Hyattstown Mill located in a rustic country setting near the historic town of Hyattstown, Maryland. The mill is about 25 miles northwest of Washington, DC. in Little Bennett Regional Park. The park is operated by the Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission, and is located in northern Montgomery County, Maryland.

HMAP is a membership-based non-profit cultural arts organization dedicated to preserving the cultural and historical heritage of the region. HMAP is part of a close working partnership involving the Montgomery County Government, Little Bennett Regional Park and the Park and Planning Commission and seeks to embrace adjacent areas in nearby Frederick County, Maryland in its service to the greater Hyattstown region. The organization hosts fine art, music, literary, education and outreach activities throughout the year.
